Here we are: summer is almost over and, don’t lie, all of us need a remedy to prevent peeling. Or rather, there are two kind of people: people who get sunburnt and demigods. So, if your skin is not golden and perpetually hydrated, you need some tricks to prevent peeling.
That’s the secret: hydration. Moisturize your skin is the key to prevent peeling. So, this quick guide shows you 5 diy remedies to prevent peeling, hydrating your skin in the most natural way.

1. Aloe Vera Gel Treatment
Aloe Vera gel is one of the absolute best natural remedies for all types of burns and it certainly will help you to alleviate the pain of sunburn. If you don’t have an aloe vera plant, now is the time to get one. Not only is the gel great for burns, it’s also helpful for alleviating the itch from insect bites and stings.
You can create a very effective sunburn remedy with:
An aloe plant with thick leaves
In order to prepare your own effective sunburn gel, you will need to squeeze out your own aloe vera gel. Note that you can actually just squeeze the aloe leaves onto your skin but if you are literally covered from head to toe in sunburn, this will take quite a while. It’s much better to prepare your own aloe gel and have it on hand for when you do end up a little toasty from the sun.
You simply have to slit the leaves down the middle so that you can remove the gel. Just squeeze out the leaves and either lay them open side down on your sunburn or rub the gel into the burned areas. If you have a plant on hand and you haven’t yet gotten sunburn, why not go ahead and squeeze out a bit of the gel for future use? You just slit the leaves and squeeze out the inside and then store in a small lotion or gel bottle. This way, you have it ready when you need it. Store it in the fridge and it will also provide a nice cooling feeling when you apply it to sunburned areas.

2. Olive Oil
Olive oil has skin-nourishing fatty acids that work as an excellent moisturizer for dry skin. The oil coats the skin and locks in moisture. Plus, the vitamin E in olive oil helps the body fight free radicals that are often responsible for skin aging.
Slightly warm some extra-virgin olive oil in a microwave. Liberally rub the warm olive oil on the affected area and gently massage it so the oil penetrates deep inside the skin. Do this three times daily until your condition improves.
Mix two tablespoons of salt with enough olive oil to create a thick paste. Use this paste as a body scrub to exfoliate dead skin cells. Do this twice a week until your skin heals completely.

3. Cucumber
Cucumber is a natural astringent and also contains plenty of water that helps keep the skin hydrated. Plus, its cooling effect helps alleviate irritation and itching. The vitamin C in cucumber will also reduce sunburn and facilitate skin repair.
Grate one cucumber and apply the paste on the affected skin. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. Do this twice daily for one or two weeks to maintain adequate skin moisture.
Mix one peeled cucumber and two tablespoons of aloe vera gel in a blender to make a smooth paste. Apply this paste on the peeling skin. Leave it on for 10 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water. Do this once daily until the problem is resolved.

4. Vinegar
It may not be our favorite summer scents, but if you put white or apple cider vinegar in a spray bottle and mist onto a sunburn, it can help to prevent unsightly blisters and peeling. Smell too offensive? Mix a solution of 1 part water and 1 part vinegar and spray on sunburned skin before bed.

5. Earl Grey Tea
Earl grey tea is an excellent treatment for sunburn. While you can drink a cup to help you relax, you can also make a remedy that you apply directly to the sunburn which will instantly stop the pain and help your burn to turn to a tan instead of peeling.
