I know. Holiday are the faster way to gain two creepy-happy punds. This is normal if your lunch becomes your dinner and you don’t get up from the table all day. Your body isn’t prepared to do this, so your metabolism is suffering, but don’t worry, you need one day only to rebalance it. In fact, your digestive memory is smart and quick, and when you reintroduce the right food the metabolism speed up. I’m not a nutritionist, so I don’t want to do a diet program, the only thing I can do is suggesting you to follow some simple rules to detox your body. Here you can find some tips to do a detox day.
1 reintroduce vegetables
Raw veggies, I mean. Not seasoned with cream sauce. Raw veggies are very important for your body. Eating them during your meals will help to detox your body. Even a veggies soup is a good idea for your dinner:try the Gwyneth Paltrow’s detox soup, I found it on popsugar.com:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 clove garlic, thinly sliced
1/2 yellow onion, roughly diced
1 head broccoli, cut into small florets (about 2/3 pound)
2 1/2 cups water
1/4 teaspoon coarse salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
3/4 cup arugula (watercress would be good, too)
Heat the olive oil in a medium nonstick saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, and sauté for just a minute or until fragrant.
Add the broccoli, and cook for 4 minutes or until bright green.
Add the water, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil; lower the heat; and cover. Cook for 8 minutes or until the broccoli is just tender.
Pour the soup into a blender, and puree with the arugula until quite smooth. Be very careful when blending hot liquids; start slowly, and work in batches if necessary (you don’t want the steam to blow the blender lid off). Serve the soup with a bit of fresh lemon.
2 eliminate refined sugar
The best way to detox your body is to eliminate (just for one day) the refined sugar like pasta, rice and breads. This is a way to lighten your stomach.

Feel free to play around with the ingredients in this smoothie recipe. To lower the carb content while also upping the protein, increase the amount of dairy and cut the banana in half.
Katy Perry Smoothie Recipe
2 cups fresh strawberries
1 frozen banana, chopped
2 teaspoons peanut butter
4 ounces fat-free plain Greek yogurt or fat-free milk
1/2 cup ice cubes
Place all the ingredients in a blender, and mix until smooth. Enjoy immediately.
